College Kids See Confederate Flag, Get Counsiling

From Breitbart

University students in Massachusetts who were upset by an image of a Confederate flag sticker on another student’s laptop were offered counseling services at Framingham State University.

The offer came after the university’s “chief diversity and inclusion officer,” Sean Huddleston, described the display of the small Confederate flag sticker as a “bias incident.”
According to Metrowest Daily News, students filed two “bias reports” within the past month as a result of a student displaying the flag in some way. The most recent bias incident – reported on November 19 – was a report of a student having seen a Confederate flag sticker on another student’s laptop.
In an email to students, Huddleston did not declare a ban on displaying the flag, but claimed that it upsets some students.
MRCTV obtained the email in which Huddleston wrote:
A student reported a bias incident today, in which the image of the Confederate flag was displayed on a laptop. Many of you may be aware that last month we received a Bias Incident involving two other students for a similar issue. Although related in nature, the two incidents involve separate parties.
The FSU Bias Protocol and Response Team has been made aware of the incident, and will meet to determine any measures that may be needed to respond to the incident. Our primary goal continues to be to expeditiously address and resolve incidents of bias that impede our progress toward a welcoming and inclusive campus community.
“Many see the Confederate flag as an inflammatory symbol of oppression and constant reminder of a dark period in the history of the United States in which slavery was a legal,” Huddleston continued, while “Others may simply view this flag as a symbol of shared southern heritage and in memory of the Civil War.”
Huddleston said the flag and other symbols “are not condoned by Framingham State University, as they violate the core values of our institution and not considered consistent with our desire to maintain a safe, respectful and welcoming campus community for all.”

"Bias Reports," "Bias Incident," and "Bias Protocol and Response Team" all sound like villains from a dystopian cyberpunk novel. Considering the "offenses" that justify the existence of any speech policing agency, we live in a parody, one that even Mel Brooks could not possibly imagine.

These pansies will not enjoy the real world. Unfortunately, they can vote.

Heavy Metal Monday: Bright Lights, Thrash City

The San Francisco Bay Area is known for a lot of things. Berkley and its university - today known for being a center of campus communism - was once a center for science and innovation, contributing to the Manhattan Project and nuclear research after the war. The hippy movement originated here and Santa Clara Valley got the informal name "Silicon Valley" during the technological boom in the 1970s. Today, it is one of the most politically correct areas on the planet.

Even here, subversion lurks just below the surface, in the form of Thrash Metal. With a culture focused on conforming and censoring the world's problems away, the Metal scene focused on lyrical themes of violence, warfare, tyranny and rebellion, with even faster tempo and harsher lyrics than traditional Thrash Metal. This distinct style has become known as Bay Area Thrash Metal.

College Safe Space: No Adults Allowed (literally!)

From Breitbart

On Friday, students occupying the administration building at Occidental College ejected Breitbart News’ Adelle Nazarian from their “safe space,” saying they felt “threatened” by her presence and referring to her as “an adult in a student-occupied space.”

“We’re requesting that you respect the fact that this is a community-owned space by students,” one of the male students said. He said there was “an issue of safety” as a result of Nazarian’s “adult presence,” which supposedly posed a direct threat to the occupying students’ well-being.
Nazarian recorded the incident. The audio is below (language warning).
The episode recalls the classic quote by New Left activist Jack Weinberg, veteran of the UC Berkeley Free Speech Movement of 1964, who told the San Francisco Chronicle: “We have a saying in the movement that we don’t trust anybody over 30.”

Supposed adults, who don't consider themselves adults, feel threatened by the presence of adults. Um, yeah. Even Mel Brooks would not have imagined this, were he writing a parody of the country.

These graduates will be in for a nasty surprise when they try to get a job. Then again, Bernie Sanders is popular with the young and these pansies will vote for someone who promises to steal money from others to fund their laziness.

#More Distractingly Sexy

Why? Because 10 is not enough.

Frauke (Fr-oww-kuh) Petry, chemist, leader of the German conservative party Alternativ für Deutschland, which has made major gains in Germany in light of Angela Merkel's insistence that Germany keep taking in Syrian refugees. MILF für Chancellor.

Marietta Blau, physicist, developed the method to photograph the tracks of high energy particles. Nominated for the Nobel Prize twice, but passed over. Not classy like Lise Meitner, but cute in that girl next door way.

Tali Sharot, Neuroscientist. Tali discovered the "optimism bias." Israeli. She would be a most valuable asset during a Zombie Apocalypse.

Kristen Sanford, Neurophysiology, martial artist. Another asset for the Zombie Apocalypse.

Corina Tartina, mathmetician, author. The Romanian Danica Mckellar.

Cheska Burelson, Oceanographer.Would be fun to swim around with.

Heavy Metal Monday: Speed Demon

Cover Art for Painkiller by Judas Priest, revitalizing itself with the very Speed Metal that the band helped to spawn a decade earlier.

Introduction & Style

Speed Metal was one of the earliest offshoots of the NWOBHM movement, and is a direct technical evolution of the music style. This subgenre faster tempo than most other types of Heavy Metal, with more expressive vocals, but the vocals are still "clean" and the instrumentation is still more melodic than Thrash Metal, itself a derivative of Speed Metal.

From bloomberg

Poland’s new government won’t accept migrant quotas imposed by the European Union, as the terror attacks in France have exposed the weakness in the bloc, the nation’s future minister for European affairs said.

From Breitbart

The newly appointed Polish foreign minister has moved to forestall the inevitable hand-wringing over the Paris attacks, this morning claiming “crazed leftists” would blame the killings of over 120 civilians by Islamist terrorists on the West.

Speaking on Polish radio this morning, foreign minister-select Witold Waszczykowski who will take his post officially on Monday called Friday night’s terror attack “an attack on civilisation,” adding, “France is an icon of civilisation”.
The minister expressed that Islamic State terror was caused by half-hearted Western military campaigns which were enough to goad them into “civilisation war with the West”, but stopped short of full war, not enough to defeat the Caliphate.
Without naming any particular states, Mr. Waszczykowski also took aim at the countries who help fund Islamist terrorism. He said the West should: “exert enormous pressure on those countries that created the Islamic State, or which support it.

Shillon did exactly that, blaming the attacks on conservatives and calling for an end to free speech. The usual suspects also used the attacks to push gun control.

Poland has defended Europe from Jihad in the past.

Mizzou Student VP: 1st Amendment Creates ‘Hostile and Unsafe Learning Environment’

From Mediaite

Mizzou Student VP: 1st Amendment Creates ‘Hostile and Unsafe Learning Environment’

While most people were following the story of the University of Missouri media studies professor who bullied a student journalist in several viral videos, the school’s student body vice president had a blunt response for journalists who claimed their first amendment rights were being violated.
Mizzou student body VP Brenda Smith-Lezama spoke with MSNBC about the declared safe spaces and why students (and some faculty) were trying to keep reporters out of them. When questioned about these “teachable moments” — with the caveat that “the cameras are going to go away soon” — Smith-Lezama said “journalists… cannot approach these situations with hostility and anger as it only escalates the situation.”
That comment stemmed from her observation that the viral videos focused on the student journalist didn’t show “pushy” and “aggressive” visiting reporters who purportedly weren’t as calm as their student counterparts.
However, the real meat of the segment came when Smith-Lezama was asked about similar cases of racial discrimination and disparity at other universities. Complaints against these student-led protests noted that colleges were seemingly becoming “places of censor and prohibition.” Mizzou’s student body VP was blatantly honest in her response.
“I personally am tired of hearing that First Amendment rights protect students when they are creating a hostile and unsafe learning environment for myself and for other students here. I think that it’s important for us to create that distinction and create a space where we can all learn from one another and start to create a place of healing rather than a place where we are experiencing a lot of hate like we have in the past.”

Tyranny, as most people define it, is the suppression of personal freedoms to benefit someone's interpretation of a "common good," without the consent of those involved. The irony about such involuntary collectivism is that it is only supported when the supporters personally benefit.

The "ME!" factor is by far the biggest factor in both the construction of totalitarian regimes.

Past totalitarian regimes were enabled by people who lived in desperate conditions, and misled by demagogues who played on their emotions, stressing how they would have better lives if they just trust Dear Leader and his political police. Willing subjects did not care why the Jews or Kulacks disappeared or where they went, as long as they personally benefited. Eventually the willing subjects too paid a toll exacted by those they lifted into power.

Today, tyranny is being supported not because of hyperinflation, war, corruption, but on the fear of being offended! I know that not every college student thinks this way, but they have become a majority and these are our future electorate. For what it's worth, the Nazis came to power through the electorate: voting by itself does not equal freedom! Freedom comes from the willingness to stand up to those who would suppress it for THEIR version of a common good.

University of Missouri Police Ask Students to Report ‘Hurtful Speech’

From Mediaite

The Missouri University Police Department (MUPD) sent an email to students Tuesday morning urging them to call them and report any hurtful speech they encounter on the campus.

In an email that was flagged by several Missouri-based journalists, the MUPD asked “individuals who witness incidents of hateful and/or hurtful speech or actions” to call the department’s general phone line “to continue to ensure that the University of Missouri campus remains safe.” They suggest that students provide a detailed description of the offender, their location or license plate number, and even to take a picture if possible.

In the email, MUPD readily admits that hurtful or hateful speech is not against the law. But, they write, “if the individuals identified are students, MU’s Office of Student Conduct can take disciplinary action.”
The mob is its own worst enemy here, though if they want to flood the staff with calls, they can do exactly that. The police are not omnipotent or omniscient, and will have to drop it to focus on more important things.

Another thing. These same sissies hate the police, yet demand that the police be the only ones armed, and enforce their agenda. Doublethink is amusing.

If you choose to contact the university, remind them at Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law is a Felony (18 USC 242).

Tyranny of the Majority

From Breitbart

The Obama administration is praising protesters who successfully forced University of Missouri President Tim Wolfe to announce his resignation.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest praised the group of protesters for rallying together and demanding change, pointing out that Obama’s first presidential campaign was embodied by the same spirit.
“I think this also illustrates something that the president talked a lot about in the context of – in his campaign, that a few people speaking up and speaking out can have a profound impact on the communities where we live and work,” he said during the daily press briefing today.
The group of students accused Wolfe of enabling “a culture of racism” on campus and ignoring student concerns about recent events. Wolfe resigned after members of the college football team joined the protests, saying they wouldn’t suit up for the next game.

 Also from Breitbart

What does it take to generate a rabid, Maoist-style mob demanding political purges, on an Ivy League campus, in 2015? An email defending “offensive” Halloween costumes, apparently.

That’s what kicked off the latest nadir in campus zealotry, this time at no less a university than Yale. Typically the fall is a time when Yale students are obsessed with defeating arch-rival Harvard at football, a war on the gridiron that occasionally turn ugly. This year the sport of choice seems to be the public castigation of professors by students, a battle on the quadrangle destined to become just as menacing.
Outrage began at Yale a few days ago, after an email sent by Associate Master Erika Christakis became public knowledge. Christakis complained that universities were no longer safe for “regressive, or even transgressive, experience,” arguing that they had instead become places of “censure and prohibition.”
Since then, both Erika Christakis and her husband Nicholas Christakis, the Master of Silliman College at Yale, have been the targets of a rabid crusade by student witch-hunters to pressure the pair into resignation. This culminated last week in shocking footage of students surrounding Nicholas Christakis, screaming expletives at him and calling for his resignation.

What we are seeing in college is what many self-described democrats really mean when they say such sugary terms as "democracy," "the will of the people," and "the consensus."

Most supporters of democracy believe that majority rule equals freedom. Majority rule can, when unrestrained, be more oppressive than autocracy (dictatorship). This is because group psychology comes into play.

Groupthink arises from a desire for group cohesiveness, which itself can arise from a need to present a united front against a real or perceived enemy. When a group is faced with sufficient urgency, objective thinking becomes secondary to cohesiveness. This can romanticized as "thinking bigger than one's self," or more practically, can be motivated by a need for security (strength in numbers).

Conformity can also be coerced by the threat of being expelled or worse, punished by the group itself (often violently). This tends to be the case when a group is motivated by demagoguery, leaders who play on emotion, especially negative emotion. By maximizing emotion, objectivity can be completely suppressed, and with it, reason.

Government becomes the mob and the mob becomes the government.
The founders wrote the Bill Of Rights to grant protection to the minority. However, the constitution is becoming less popular by day, as demogogues encourage emotionalism over reason.

Liberty dies, with thunderous applause.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Lise Meitner!

Today, November 7th, is Lise Meitner's birthday. In actuality, Lise's real birthday is uncertain: Vienna's official birth register says November 7th while the Jewish community records say November 17th and at least one source mentions the 28th. Lise used the 7th, so that is the day that will be used here. This lack of attention to detail, called Schlamperei (Sloppiness), was almost a cultural tradition in Austria in that period, and was in stark contrast to neighboring Germany with its meticulous record keeping. As a mini-bio has already been written, I will conclude this post with rare photos of Lise.

Kate Upton demonstrates the "Arthur C Clarke effect!"

"Some women, Commander Norton had decided long ago, should not be allowed aboard ship; weightlessness did things to their breasts that were too damn distracting. It was bad enough when they were motionless; but when they started to move, and sympathetic vibrations set in, it was more than any warm-blooded male should be asked to take. He was quite sure that at least one serious space accident had been caused by acute crew distraction, after the transit of a well-upholstered lady officer through the control cabin."

Arthur C Clarke,
Rendezvous with Rama

Kate Upton demonstrates his point beautifully (thanks to Goodstuff for finding this). A 9 month trip to mars would be never be boring with her.

#Distractingly Sexy

Nobel Prize winner and professor, Tim Hunt, was criticized when he had this to say about women in the laboratory:

"Three things happen when they are in the lab," he said, "you fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticise them they cry."
With the encouragement of feminist magazine Vagenda, thousands of lab ladies posted deliberately unflattering photos of themselves with the hashtag #distractinglysexy. Feminists, being feminists, seek to minimize feminine beauty. Here are ten science babes who are sexy.

Danica McKeller, mathmetician.Who needs Common Crap Core with her?

Lise Meitner, physicist, one of the discoverers of atomic fission. Often dressed modestly yet beautifully, with a warm heart to match. Developed Ayn Rand like objectivity after WWI. Overshadowed by Marie Curie.

Amy Mainzer, astronomer. She appeared on The Universe and How The Universe Works. T-eff: off the scale.

Rosalind Franklin, crystallographer. Rosalind discovered the helical structure of DNA, though the Nobel Prize went to someone who plagiarized her work. She had good genes, definitely worth uhh... procreating with.

Debbie Berebichez, physicist. Appears frequently on the Science Channel. The best Mexican immigrant.

Chien Shiung Wu, physicist. Chien was one of the developers of the uranium enrichment process for the Manhattan Project. Her love lasted a long time in Hiroshima.

Cynthia Brazeal, robotics. Needs to develop an army of fembots that look just like her.

Florence Bascom, geologist, first ever woman to be hired by the USGS. Would have been fun to study rocks with.

Lisa Randall, theoretical physicist specializing in string theory. Über MILF.

Summer Williams, rocket scientist, cheerleader. Top-heavy.

Heavy Metal, Viking Memorabilia Considered "Racist"

(At least it's an excuse to post Legartha again!)
From Infowars
If you thought you could get through a whole day without joyless social justice warriors declaring another set of random things to be racist, then think again.
According to a new study from Leeds Beckett University, Thor, heavy metal music and dressing up as a Viking are all racist because they reinforce oppression towards “ethnic minorities”.

Despite the fact that progressives have spent the last month lecturing everyone about how dressing up in “ethnic” costumes for Halloween represents a hateful act of cultural appropriation, we now learn that dressing up as a stereotypically white cultural figure is also racially insensitive.

According to Professor Karl Spracklen, “Folk metal’s obsession with warriors and cultural purity, displayed through tales of Vikings and dressing up as Vikings on stage, reduces belonging and identity in a muti-cultural, cosmopolitan society to a few exclusive myths. It is showing white men how to be white men and showing women and ethnic minorities their place in European society.”

Basically, everything that depicts a white man is "racist." Obvious, I know, but where are the voices calling out hatred of whites as racist by itself? I don't listen to Folk Metal, but in the interests of being politically incorrect, here is some Viking themed metal songs!

Oregon County Votes To End Compliance With State and Federal Gun Controls

From Breitbart

On November 3, voters in Oregon’s Coos County voted to separate themselves from de jure compliance with state and federal gun control laws by giving their sheriff the job of deciding which laws are constitutional–and therefore deserving of compliance–and which are not.

This vote occurred at the same time that pro-Second Amendment incumbents were retaining control of the Virginia Senate and pro-Second Amendment candidate Matt Bevin (R) was winning the Kentucky gubernatorial race. Moreover, this rejection of state and federal gun controls took place in Oregon–the most recent ground zero for Obama’s gun control push, following the heinous attack in a gun free zone at Umpqua Community College.

According to the Huffington Post,  Coos County voters passed the “2nd Amendment Preservation Ordinance with 61 percent of the vote.” The ordinance empowers Coos County Sheriff Greg Zanni to determine if a given state or federal gun law goes against the constitution. “If he thinks they do, the county is then banned from using any resources to enforce those laws. Any county employee who violates the ordinance will be fined $2,000.”

The constitution is quite open to interpretation. Less so than modern laws, but it is still there. Just look at the disarmament industry and some "fudds" who see the National Guard as the militia, while ignoring the Unorganized Militia. Yelling "fire" in a theater and a few other things highlight those grey areas too. To have one person, and ONLY one person determine the constitutionality of a law, based on HIS interpretation, is actually quite flawed.

However, infringements should be nullified. I hope this catches on in other areas of the country.

Daily Beast: Obama, Hillary Toying With ‘Civil War’ Over Gun Confiscation

From Breitbart.

On November 2, The Daily Beast pointed to recent statements from President Obama and Hillary Clinton regarding the implementation of Australian-style gun confiscation and suggested “civil war could erupt on American soil” if any administration actually tried to confiscate privately owned firearms.

The Daily Beast theoretically agreed that “confiscation on a massive scale” may be “the only way to solve American gun violence,” but they pointed out that it was not realistic and suggested Hillary risks causing irreparable divisions by talking about confiscation then mocking gun owners as conspiracy theorists waiting for “black helicopters” to come take their guns away.

According to The Daily Beast, confiscation was workable in Australia because there was no Second Amendment and the government only had to take 650,000 guns. That is a far cry from the “350 million” believed to be in Americans’ hands.
Yes, “350 million.”

But even more important than the number of guns is the depth of American “devotion” to them. And The Daily Beast observes that it is this devotion–this dedication to the philosophy and tradition underlying the right to keep and bear arms–that turns the mere mention of confiscation into something that could literally rip the country apart.

The Daily Beast put it thus, “The prospect of confiscation—as much as it might, theoretically, reduce drastically or even eliminate gun crime altogether—is simply impossible in the United States.” They pointed to statements by Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson, who stressed that Jews could have curtailed the Holocaust had they retained their guns. The Daily Beast suggests Carson hit on something “Second Amendment enthusiasts are fond of arguing,” namely, “that gun rights are enshrined in the Constitution not only for the sake of hunters or people who want to protect their homes and businesses from criminals, but also to allow the population to resist an overreaching government.”

Breitbart News previously reported that Founding Father James Madison used Federalist 46 to make that very point–that armed citizens could band together and resist their government, should it tend toward tyranny. And he pointed out that this demonstrated American exceptionalism inasmuch as citizens of other nations, lacking arms, also lacked the ability to resist.

The Daily Beast addressed the way Hillary mentioned confiscation only later to mock gun owners for fearing the government might come after their guns:
Clinton can joke all she likes about Americans fearing “black helicopters” taking their guns away, but it is no exaggeration to suggest that civil war could erupt on American soil were the U.S. government to attempt anything remotely resembling what was done in Australia.
The column in The Daily Beast is aptly titled, “Yes, They Want to Take Your Guns Away.”

Bob Owen outlined the results of such a scenario.

Heavy Metal Monday

Just random videos tonight. I had a long day. Next week I will continue the written series. I will begin with my favorite song off of Saxon's newest album, Battering Ram. The lyrics could easily describe a certain member of the Clinton dynasty, though the song is actually about a villain in Alice In Wonderland.
